Short Bio
  • Surgeon Georgios P. Ilias, Doctor of the Medical School of the University of Athens, with more than 25 years of experience and more than 8000 surgical procedures under general anesthesia and more than 8500 under local anesthesia, has been recognized as a specialist in Minimally Invasive, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery of the Digestive tract and in surgery for anal diseases with LASER.

     

    Dr. George Elias is the Director of the Surgical Clinic at the Athens Rhea and a scientific associate of the "YGEIA" group. He is in charge of an integrated surgical team, with highly trained and scientifically qualified collaborators. This team strives to provide a specialized approach to each patient's condition, offering high-quality services.

     

    Three specialized departments are supported in this surgical clinic:

     

    - Department of colorectal diseases and orthoprosthetic diseases (laser treatments).
    - Department of abdominal wall reconstruction -Gills (laparoscopic methods TAPP, TEP).
    - Department of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery.

     

    Maintains private practices in Athens and Chalkida. His goal is to continue his subsequent course, focusing on ethics, without compromising the quality of services, while always emphasizing the safety of his patients.

    - 1991 Graduated with Honours from the Faculty of Medicine of Universitatea Medicina Farmacie Craiova.


    - 1992-1994 Served in the Navy, where he specialized in Diving Medicine and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.


    - 1994-1996 He served his field service at the Health Station of Skyros.


    - 1996-2002 He specialised in General Surgery at the General Hospital of Chalkida and the 2nd University Clinic of the Medical School of Athens.


    - 2001 Trained in Endoscopic Colonoscopic Approaches.


    - 2002 Obtained the title of Surgical Specialty by examination.

    - Doctoral Thesis. He was awarded a PhD by the University of Athens in 2006.
