• Dr. Sarantis Michael MD, MSc, PHDc is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and maintains a private practice in Athens - Psychiko. He was born in Volos, Magnesia in 1989. After completing his secondary education in Velestino, Magnesia, where he comes from, he entered the Medical School of the University of Athens through national examinations in 2007 and graduated in 2013 with a grade of Very Good (8/10).

   

  He trained in general surgery at the KAT hospital in 2014, and in 2015 he continued his training in pediatric orthopedics at the Aghia Sophia Children's Hospital until 2016. From 2017 to 2022 he trained as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the 4th Orthopaedic Clinic of the ''KAT'' Hospital, alongside renowned Orthopaedic Surgeons. During his residency, he was active in the scientific activities of the clinic and participated in numerous orthopedic surgical procedures, sometimes as an assistant and sometimes as a surgeon. He has participated in and presented papers and lectures at many medical scientific conferences in Greece and abroad. Numerous articles have been published in Greek and foreign language medical journals. (PubMed). In 2019, within the framework of the specialty, he was trained by the department of upper limb microsurgery of the "KAT" Hospital. In 2021 he received after examinations The title of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology and remained as an Orthopaedic Specialist at the D Orthopaedic Clinic of the ''KAT'' hospital, until June 2022. Since then, the doctor continued as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Department of Sports Injuries at the Metropolitan Hospital, where he is still working today.

   

  In 2018, he completed his postgraduate training in pediatric orthopedic trauma and pediatric skeletal anomalies at the Orthopedic Hospital Speising (Vienna, Austria). Since 2019, he has held a Master's degree in "Metabolic Bone Diseases - Osteoporosis" from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. In 2020, he was awarded a doctoral degree by the Athens Medical School, and since then he has been working on his doctoral thesis at the 2nd Orthopaedic University Clinic of the University of Athens (Konstantopouleio Hospital - Agia Olga). In 2022 he completed his postgraduate training in Emergency Prehospital Medicine, receiving the relevant title.

   

  His special scientific interests include arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive reconstructive surgery, and pediatric orthopedics. In addition to his private practice in Athens, he works as an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Department of Sports Injuries of the Metropolitan Hospital and is an outpatient at the Elpis Clinic in Volos.
