• Pavlos Vavasis graduated in 1993 from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Military School of Combat Support Officers (MCSO). From 1993 to 2000 he was a resident physician at the Department of Pathology, Surgery, Orthopaedics and Neurology of the Athens Naval Hospital, and the Intensive Care Unit of the Hellenic Red Cross General Hospital, with parallel duties as Head of the Department of Diving - Hyperbaric Medicine of the Athens Naval Hospital. In 2002, he obtained the title of SPECIALIST IN HYPERBARIC MEDICINE at the University of Dundee in Scotland.

   

  From 2003 to 2015 he was the Director of the Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine Unit of the Athens Naval Hospital, as well as scientific director and instructor of the annual seminar on Hyperbaric-Diving Medicine & Nursing of the Athens Naval Hospital. At the same time he was also an instructor for the Navy's Submarine Search and Rescue seminars. He has participated in many national and international conferences, seminars and educational - scientific events.

   

  In 2009 he founded the Hyperbaric Diving Medicine of Athens. The centre is also a training centre.

   

  In 2015 the "Hyperbaric Diving Medicine of Thessaloniki" was founded (founding member).

   

  Since January 2016 until today, he is the Director of the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit of the "Metropolitan Hospital" in Piraeus (Address: 9 Ethnarchou Makarios 9 & 1 El.Venizelou, 18547, N. Faliro, Piraeus).

   

  He has a private practice in Thessaloniki (Address: 5 Andrianoupoleos 5, 55133, Kalamaria, Thessaloniki).
