Enorme Ammos Beach is a brand new complex at a prime seafront location Malia, situated approximately 27km from Heraklion International Airport. This hotel provides adults only accommodation in upscale rooms, bungalow and suites, some of which feature a shared pool or their own private pool.

Malia is a coastal town and a former municipality in the northeast corner of the Heraklion regional unit in Crete, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Hersonissos, of which it is a municipal unit. It lies 34 kilometres (21 miles) east of Heraklion, the Cretan capital city. The town (pop. 3,224 in 2011) was the seat of the municipality of Mália (pop. 5,433). The municipal unit also includes the villages of Mochos ), Krasi, and Stalida and has a total land area of 60.720 square kilometres (23.444 sq mi). The town is a tourist attraction, primarily for its significant archaeological site and nightlife. The Minoan town ruins lie three km east of the site and cover an area of approximately 1 square kilometre (0.4 sq mi). The original name for the town is not known.

Greece Overnight Stay Tax
From 1 January 2018, you’ll need to pay an Overnight Stay Tax which has been introduced by the Greek Ministry of Tourism and aims to enhance the State’s revenue in the context of the current fiscal adjustment program. This will be collected from you when you get to your accommodation.

The tax works out between 0.50 – 4 Euros per night. The amount you’ll pay will depend on the official rating of your accommodation. The specific amount will be dependent on the type of accommodation you’ve booked, as set out in the table below:

The amount you’ll pay is based on the official rating of the accommodation you have booked, according to the local Tourist Board classification. Our own accommodation rating will give you a good indication of the standard of the accommodation and is usually similar to the official rating, but there’s sometimes small differences between ratings. By using our own rating, you’ll be able to work out an approximate amount to pay.

When and how to pay:

You’ll be asked to pay the tax when you check-in at your accommodation, this can be paid by cash or card.

Why do I have to pay:

The tax is something new and specifically aimed at tourists. It’s a cost beyond our control and the suppliers of the accommodation. It’s a Government imposed tax that has to be paid when you stay in accommodation in Greece. Whilst our brochure and website holiday information does mention the possibility of local taxes like this, we understand this cost is something you probably weren’t expecting to pay and are sorry the Government has decided to bring this in so quickly.
